Essential yet Expensive |
Its hard to write a review on something that is necessary for your PS2, but when compared to other memory cards I have tried this one is the best. Because each save file takes up space much like on a computer hard drive, youre not limited to memory blocks like with the PS1. Some save files can take up a lot of space, but others such as Final Fantasy 10 save data only takes up around 60kb, leaving space for over 100 save files of this type. Moreover the memory card is fast and reliable, not once has it ever failed to work or save my data. The only downside is that the initial expense may lead people to delete old data rather than buying a new card.

Lets be honest here guys... |

Ok, yes its a memory card. Yes, it saves 8 mb of data, and yes its faster. But what you really want to know is whether to go for the 16 mb versions, or this one dont you? Go for this one. Third party manufactures tend to loose data, where as these cards are designed after all by the people who brought you the playstation itself! Surely they know how to manufacture a decent, solid card thats gonna hold your game saves for years to come. Ive had a ps2 right from the beginning, and have saved countless games on loads of cards. Ive dropped them, thrown them against walls in anger, hell I even spilt a glass of coke on one of them! You know what? They all still work. Yes its good, its reliable, and more importantly, it does the job more securely than any third party rubbish.

8mb Memory Card PS2 |
Card should really be bundled with the machine, but hey as everyone will know each one sold is costing everyone at least £24.99. Sony know that everyone using a new PS2 game will need a new card to save their games on. It would have been a nice gesture to those buying the machine to have had one included in the packs. One gripe is that you can copy from an old memory card to the new one but cant copy a save to the old card. Ready Rumble Boxing 2 auto saves and i cant see how to stop it.
